Basically, a domain name is the unique name of your website.
It’s what people need to type into their browser to visit your website.
Domain names will usually look something like this: www.yourcompany.com.
When purchasing a domain name, there are two elements of the name within your control.
“yourcompany” – which may be your company name or any word or combination of words (without spaces),
“Domain suffix” ie

“co.uk”
or some other suffix. This suffix sometimes hint’s at the nature of what the website represents and/or where it is from.
